Christian Black
Music Director
Christian Black is the Director of the Greater Tiverton Community Chorus, a 50-piece vocal ensemble that performs in the Tiverton, RI and Westport, MA area. After starting out as our collaborative pianist in the fall of 2023, she accepted the calling to become their new director as of January 2024.
Active in the church setting, she also serves as the Minister of Music at St. Raymond’s Church in Providence, RI, where she plays organ and piano, sings and directs the choir and music program. She graduated from Rhode Island College in 2023, Magna Cum Laude, with her Bachelor’s of Music in Piano Performance.
As a frequently called upon piano accompanist in RI, MA, and CT, Christian plays for the Rhode Island All-State Festival, the North Kingstown Community Chorus, and several schools for various concerts and events. She runs a private teaching studio out of Providence and offers lessons in piano, organ, voice, and various brass and woodwind instruments. Passionate about music education and choral conducting, Christian is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Teaching at Rhode Island College.
Katie Estrella
Collaborative Pianist
As a piano major at Gordon College, Katie received classical training under the direction of Alina Polyakov and studied alto saxophone under the direction of Michael Huth. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, she made her home in Rhode Island and has been working as freelance singer, saxophone player, pianist and teacher for over 25 years.
Comfortable in a wide variety of settings, Katie has fronted popular rock and party bands as a lead singer, music directed over twenty productions, worked as an accompanist for schools, theaters, and cabarets, and been a long-time church worship leader in both contemporary and traditional styles.
Katie currently performs with The Company Bees, a singing duo paying tribute to the music of the 1940s, and lead sings with Scott Brown and The Diplomats, a cover band led by former Senator and Ambassador Scott Brown. She continues to work as an accompanist and music director, and has recently started to perform as a dueling pianist. At Christmas time, Katie lends her voice to the Very Merry Dickens Carolers.
Katie makes her home in Riverside, RI, where she teaches private lessons in voice, piano, and saxophone.
